MLB to Investigate A-Rod’s Poker Activity: The Associated Press Reports Major League Baseball plans to interview Yankee 3B Alex Rodriguez as part of an investigation into his participation in illegal poker games.  Rodriguez was reportedly seen by several people at Hollywood poker games with A-list celebrities.

Goodell to Retain Disciplinary Power:  ESPN.com reports that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will have the power to dole out punishments for policy violations under the new CBA, which is still being hammered out.  Goodell’s disciplinary power is a point of contention for many players who feel he has too much unchecked authority in this area.

Notre Dame Reinstates Floyd After DUI Arrest:  SI.com reports that Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd was allowed to return to the team yesterday.  Head Coach Brian Kelley reinstated the star receiver four months after he was arrested for DUI.  Floyd has caught more touchdown passes than any other player in Notre Dame history.
