Rosenhaus: Pryor Won’t Appeal Ban: ESPN.com reports that Terrelle Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus said Pryor will not appeal the five-game suspension imposed by the NFL last week. Pryor was drafted with a third round pick by the Oakland Raiders in NFL’s supplemental draft. Pryor previously said that he would appeal the suspension if Raiders’ owner Al Davis wanted him to.
Tennessee Escapes Penalty, Pearl Not as Lucky: The Associated Press reports that the NCAA hit former Tennessee Basketball coach Bruce Pearl with a multiyear show-cause penalty. However, there are no sanctions against the Volunteers beyond their self imposed penalties. A show-cause penalty means any NCAA program looking to hire Pearl must go before the NCAA and could face penalties.
Britt and Talib Meet with Goodell: ESPN.com reports that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt said his meeting with the NFL went well, and the he expects to hear about possible discipline later this week. Britt had numerous arrests this offseason. Goodell also met with Aqib Talib who faces felony weapons charges.
LSU Players Cooperate In Fight Investigation: The Associated Press reports that LSU quarter back Jordan Jefferson and three teammates gave their side of the story regarding a bar fight to police. Police said the players provided them with more witnesses. So far no charges have been filed in the fight in which one person suffered three broken vertebrae.
