Poker Pro: A-Rod Not At Game: The New York Daily News reports that poker professional Dan Bilzerian said Alex Rodriguez was not at the poker game reported by Star Magazine. The magazine reported that A-Rod was in attendance for an illegal poker game where cocaine was openly used and an incident of violence occurred. A second source that placed the Yankee third baseman at the scene now admits he was not an eyewitness. However, that source was adamant that Rodriguez did play in other illegal games.
NFL CBA Officially Signed: ESPN.com reports that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith signed the league’s new collective bargaining agreement this morning on a makeshift table outside the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Oh. The new deal was reached after a four month lock-out. The new CBA is a ten year deal. Sources indicate that HGH testing will be part of the agreement.
NY Rangers’ Avery Arrested: Forward ESPN.com reports that Sean Avery is out on bail after being arrested for allegedly shoving a police officer at his Hollywood Hills home. The officer was investigating a noise complaint at approximately 1 a.m. Friday morning. Avery was booked on suspicion of battery on a police officer. He was released about seven hours later after posting $20,000 bail. The officer was not hurt.
